Teaching and reform of professional courses based on innovative practice——Taking Soil Geography as an example

Abstract: Soil Geography is a highly practical course, and cultivating the abilities to master knowledge and innovative practice is an important goal of the course teaching. Aiming at the problems existing in the traditional teaching and practice of soil geography, such as the fragmentation of “point-line-surface” in the knowledge system, the slow updating of teaching methods and means, and the lack of practical participation and innovation, this article focuses on the cultivation of innovative practical ability, and follows the OBE teaching philosophy to carry out a “learning-centered” teaching practice reform. The results show that:(1)The modular construction of course content, the online-offline blended teaching practice on the platforms of “Learning Communication” “Rain Classroom”, and the updating of teaching methods with heuristic method and flipped classroom, enhanced the connectivity effect of students’ course knowledge with “Point-Line-Surface” system, and promoted their learning interest and initiative.(2)The integration of ideological and political education, labor education, and innovation and entrepreneurship cultivation in the teaching process, have improved students’ learning ability, field practice ability, and the ability of practice the awareness of “Agriculture, Rural areas, and Farmers”, achieved the curriculum training goal of “Specialization-Innovation- Ideology-Labor” integration, and established the foundation for creating a first-class undergraduate curriculum system with “value guidance, ability cultivation, and knowledge transfer” as the core.
