Abstract: In order to clarify the associated pathogens of companion animal suppurative diseases, uterine secretions from a patient pyometra dog at animal hospital affiliated to the college were collected sterilely for pathogen isolation and identification. The isolate was identified as Citrobacter freundii by bacterial isolation and culture, colony morphology observation and Gram’s staining observation, biochemical test and 16S rRNA gene analysis. Antibiotic susceptibility results showed that the isolated bacterium is resistant to Maddie and ampicillin, moderately sensitive to aztreonam, cefazolin, and cefoxitin, highly sensitive to cefoperazone, ceftriaxone, cefepime and other antibiotics, providing reference for prevention and related diseases control of companion animals.
