Abstract: In order to clarify the pathogenic causes of purulent diseases of companion animals, the pathogenic microbiological identification of uterine purulent secretions of two female dogs in an outpatient department of an animal hospital was carried out. Colony morphology, gram staining microscopy, biochemical test, drug susceptibility test and 16S rRNA gene sequence alignment analysis of the inoculated medium were observed. The isolates were alpha hemolytic and beta hemolytic Escherichia coli, respectively. Beta hemolytic Escherichia coli was resistant to kanamycin, streptomycin and cefothiophene. Alpha hemolytic Escherichia coli was only resistant to medilamycin. The resistance of beta hemolytic strain is significantly higher than that of alpha hemolytic strain, which provides a reference for the prevention and treatment of related infections caused by hemolytic Escherichia coli.
