Abstract: In this study, the research progress in environmental stress of aquatic animals during the last years has been studied by focusing on the concept of environmental stresses, environmental stress factors, evaluation indexes, the influence of the stress and the measures to mitigate stress. Hormone content, blood composition, immune enzymes, digestive enzymes and heat shock proteins are commonly used as indicators of stress response. The research shows that environmental stress has different effects on digestive function, immune function, growth, behavior and neuroendocrine. This review put forward new research directions for the environmental stress study according to the current research features.
