Abstract: The subchronic toxicity of Coptidis Toxin Resolving Decoction in SD rats is researched by continuous perfusion in order to expose its clinical innocuity. 120 SD rats(males and females)were randomly devivided into control group and Coptidis Toxin Resolving Decoction in 3 different dosage groups(20, 10, and 5 mL/kg, 30 in each group). The SD rats were administered with Coptidis Toxin Resolving Decoction by continuous perfusion for 6 weeks. The body weight, hematology, blood biochemistry and histopathology examination were measured for the overall toxicity assessment to rats. After 42 days, contrasted with the control group, the test group rats blood routine examination index and blood index had an approximately result(P>0.05). The result of histopathological slices showed that the liver and kidney of Coptidis Toxin Resolving Decoction 20 mL/kg group rats appeared slight damage, while the spleen, lung, liver, kidney and stomach of Coptidis Toxin Resolving Decoction 10 mL/kg group and 5 mL/kg group does not find abnormal histopathologic change. Conclusion With a dose of 10 mL/kg and 5 mL/kg Coptidis Toxin Resolving Decoction continuous perfusion, there is not harmful effect on SD rats.
