Abstract: In order to screen sweet cherry cultivars for cultivation in saline-alkaline land of Tianjin, the relative membrane soil conditions of cherry leaf permeability, malondialdehyde(MDA), soluble sugar, proline(PRO)content and peroxidase(POD)activity, superoxide dismutase(SOD)activity were studied with seedlings grafted by 3 cherry varieties named as Early American(AM), Brooks(BRO), Santina(SAN)on 2 kinds of root stock, and the seedlings were planted in neutral soil in Jixian County and saline-alkaline soil in Xiqing District. The results are as follows. In the saline-alkaline soil, the cytoplasmic membrane permeability of AM and BRO increased 30.0% and 73.3%, respectively. The MDA content of AM and SAN increased 50% and 15.6%, respectively. The soluble sugar content of SAN reduced 27.0%. The proline content of BRO increased 1.72 times. The POD enzyme activity of SAN increased 1.43 times. The proline content of AM reduced 79.0%. The SOD enzyme activity of BRO and SAN increased 3.33 times and 1.43 times, respectively. The SOD activity of AM decreased 46.6%. The membership function analyses show that the salt tolerance of 3 varieties, from high to low, is SAN, BRO, AM, therefore, SAN is suitable for planting in the saline-alkaline soil of Tianjin.
