Abstract: With the eutrophication exacerbation of culture water, the biological water purification has been paid more attention to. So, the aquatic vascular plants have played important roles in water purification, eutrophication prevention because of their unique organs, ecological functions and the characteristics of easy control and so on. The purpose of this test is to study and explore the nitrogen and phosphorus removal efficiency of the aquatic vascular plants(Ceratophyllum demersum), and thus to provide a scientific basis for purifying the water by the aquatic vascular plants (Ceratophyllum demersum). During the experiment, the growing conditions for Ceratophyllum demersum are satisfied by regulating the temperature and light. The results show that Ceratophyllum demersum has good effects on removing NO3-N, NO2-N, NH3-N and PO4-P. Also, it is the important determining factor for the purification effect to manage the aquatic vascular plants in the long term.
