Abstract: In recent years, biocontrol of plant disease has been widely concerned in the world. In order to enrich the resources of antagonistic microorganisms against plant diseases, the Chinese herbal medicine Plantago asiatica was used as experimental material to isolate the endophytic antagonistic bacteria, with Valsa mali, Alternaria solani, Fusarium graminearum,Sphaerotheca fuliginea and Botrytis cinerea used in this study. 20 strains of endophytic bacteria were tested by confrontation method. The results showed that 5 strains of endophytic bacteria showed strong inhibitory effect on the tested pathogens, especially R-6 strains. The protective and therapeutic effects of fermentation products of R-6 on strawberry gray mold and cucumber powdery mildew were 56.9%, 50.5% and 49.0%, 37.3%, respectively. According to its morphological characteristics, physiological and biochemical characteristics and 16S rRNA sequence, the R-6 strain may belong to Bacillus velezensis.
