Abstract: Based on the single factor experiment method, it is studied the effects of different stocking densities on the growth of tongue sole. The experiment set up three density gradients with 400, 500, 600 tails per pool, respectively. The adult tongue soles with the homologous, the same batches and the weight of 600 g approximately were fed in the closed recirculating aquaculture system for 153 days. The results show that different stocking densities had a significant effect on the growth of tongue sole (P<0.05). The average weight growth of low density, medium density and high density group of tongue sole was 671.35 g, 650.94 g, 474.07 g, repectively, and the average weight growth of high density group was significantly lower than that of low, medium density group (P<0.05). With the increase of stocking density, the growth of tongue sole showed the slowing trend and the growth deviation. The analyses show that the stocking density of 500 tail per pool is appropriate in the actual production . The results suggest that the stocking density is an important factor affecting the growth of tongue sole, and too high density can inhibit the growth of tongue sole.
