The extraction of purple cabbage pigment and the development of lipstick

Abstract: In order to develop the natural purple cabbage pigment lipstick product, extracted purple cabbage pigment was used as the main pigment raw material. Single factor and orthogonal experiments were used to determine the optimal extraction conditions for extracting purple cabbage pigment. The optimal condition was that extraction temperature was 80 ℃; concentration of hydrochloric acid was 0.35 mol/L; extraction time was 60 min. The changes of pigment color of purple cabbage under different pH values were studied. The optimal formula of lipstick determined by single factor test was 41% purple cabbage pigment, 27.2% olive oil, 2.8% candela wax, 27.2% white beeswax, and 1.8% emulsifier. The purple cabbage pigment lipsticks prepared with smooth texture, good hardness, safety, health and beautiful color.
