Abstract: Chinese herbal medicine is mostly green and natural, so it has a broad applicational prospect when used as additives in the field of livestock, poultry and aquatic feed. Compared with antibiotics, the use of Chinese herbal medicines is of great importance in the development of safe and environmentally friendly aquaculture, as they have fewer residues in the fish's body, are less prone to drug resistance and are affordable. Yellow catfish(Pelteobagrus fulvidraco)is an important economically farmed fish in China. This paper reviewed the current situation and prospects of Chinese herbs application in the feed of Pelteobagrus fulvidraco at home and abroad, and summarized the role of Chinese herbs in promoting the growth and development, enhancing the immunity, and improving the intestinal micro-ecological environment of Pelteobagrus fulvidraco. It provides a reference for the further application of Chinese herbs in aquatic feeds and the green aquaculture of Pelteobagrus fulvidraco.
