Research progress on the effects of different feeding methods on egg quality

Abstract: The requirement of product of livestock and poultry is changing from quantity to quality with the constant development of people’s living standard. High quality and pollution-free foods of high nutrition with no pollution and no residue become people’s favorite food. Factors, such as heredity, way of feeding, period of egg producing, environment and fodder can affect egg quality. It is very important to promote quality of eggs by improving way of feeding laying hens based on making full use of advantage of variety. In this paper, the different effects of three main feeding methods in China on egg quality has been compared and analyzed, including cage feeding, flat feeding and bulk feeding, and how to select the appropriate feeding method has been discussed to improve egg quality under the given resource constraints.
