Design of automatic decision system for precision feeding of dairy cows

Abstract: To improve the efficiency of feed utilization and reduce the feeding cost, a precise feeding decision-making system for dairy cattle was designed. The nutritional requirement of dairy cows was calculated using the nutritional requirement estimation model. Combined with the data of dairy cows' common feed in China Feed Database, the design and optimization of dairy cow feed formulation were carried out by using differential evolution algorithm. The automatic decision-making of feed formulation was realized according to the physiological status of dairy cows and the nutritional composition of feed raw materials. This decision-making system was programmed with C# programming language and it worked well. The feed formula of this system was based on individual cow. Compared with Excel 2007, the system was easily operated and the results of the system were slightly better.
