Abstract: Rice breeding is being transformed from experience breeding to precision breeding. In this process, two tracing techniques, tracing the origin of varieties and creating new varieties according to the breeding roadmap, have gradually developed to meet the needs of modern society. Using trans-omics techniques, including genome, transcriptome, proteome, metabolome and phenotype groups, combined with conventional breeding techniques and parental tracing of cultivars, a trans-omics-based breeding tracing study was carried out. Combining with the tracing of new cultivars such as ‘Jindao 294’ and ‘Jinyuan 89’, the “elite line tracing and optimization” was developed. The breeding strategy of “variety design and comprehensive technology application” has been verified by breeding practice, which proves that breeding can realize the directionality and efficience of breeding.
