Abstract: 17 denitrification strains were isolated from mandarin fish pond water of Sanshui city using BTB (bromothymol blue) spread-plate technique, through the preliminary screening for denitrification strains and determination ability, one aerobic denitrifying bacteria which has strong determination, was named 8F-3. The results showed that the total content of nitrogen was reduced from 100.00 mg/L to 6.51 mg/L by 8F-3 strain in 24 hours and the rate of denitrification was 93.49%; Ammonia nitrogen was reduced from 50.000 mg/L to 1.966 mg/L, the removal rate was 96.07%, Nitrate nitrogen was reduced from 50.00 mg/L to 3.51 mg/L, the removal rate was 92.98%; Nitrite nitrogen was reduced from 0.096 mg/L to 0.071 mg/L, the removal rate was 25.79%. According to the blast results of 8F-3 strain 16S rRNA sequence (Bootstrap 1 000 times)and physiological test for 8F-3 using API method, the bacteria was finally identified as Acinetobacter sp.
