Studies on Preparation and Properties of Choline Chloride and Malonic Acid Ionic Liquids

Abstract

Abstract: A homogeneous, colorless ionic liquid at room temperature was prepared by using choline chloride and malonic acid as raw materials. The structure of the ionic liquid was preliminarily analyzed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy（FT-IR）. The properties of conductivity, viscosity and density of choline chloride-malonic acid ionic liquid as a function of temperature were investigated, and the electrochemical window of this ionic liquid was tested by the cyclic voltammetry method. The results showed that the properties of the ionic liquid were affected greatly by the temperature, and the as-prepared ionic liquid with wider electrochemical window was a kind of ideal solvent.
