Abstract: The rigid management and the flexible management are usually used in managing students and the two kinds of management patterns have advantages and disadvantages in the certain circumstances. So combining hardness with softness is very important in managing students. More important, the "people-oriented" and “class cadre management” thinking must be established in student management so as to give full play to the initiative and creativity of college students and to foster more and more compound talents with innovation ability and political integrity.
