Abstract: :In order to screen out new varieties of colorful leaf plants suitable for planting in saline soil in Tianjin, the plant height, crown width, basal diameter and DBH in light saline soil and neutral soil were determined by using the Ulmus laevis, Cercis canadensis ‘ForestPansy’ and Pyrus callera Decne. The results showed that the overall growth of Cercis canadensis ‘ForestPansy’ was the smallest among the three varieties. And there was no significant difference in the two types of soil except for the significant difference on the basal diameter. The plant height, crown width and DBH of the plant in the neutral soil were significantly higher than those of the mild saline-alkali soil. The four growth indexes of the Pyrus calleryana Decne and Ulmus laevis in the neutral soil were significantly better than those of the mild saline-alkali soil, and the growth of the Ulmus laevis was the largest. The comprehensive analysis of the membership function showed that the Ulmus laevis grew best in the neutral soil of Jizhou, and the Pyrus callera Decne grew best on the mild saline-alkali land of Wuqing.
