Abstract: Elaeagnus moorcroftii Wall. ex Schlecht. and Elaeagnus oxycarpa Schlecht. introduced from Xinjiang Province were tested for the botanical characters of leaves, flowers, fruits, seeds and other organs. The results show that there were significant differences in the fruit and leaf base sharp, and the length of leaf, petiole, style, floral shoot and anthers length between E. moorcroftii and E. oxycarpa, which provided important characters for distinguishing these two species. This investigation could provide certain evidence for identification and utilization of the two Elaeagnus spp. in the future.
