Abstract: In order to explore the differences between blackberry and raspberry, the peel anatomy structure of blackberry and raspberry was researched. The results showed that: The cells of blackberry were oblong, and epicarp was smooth and hairless, while raspberry’s cells were irregular, and epicarp was covered with hairs; The cell size of blackberry epicarp was 0.973 μm2, 2.01 times than raspberry, which was 0.483 μm2; And the cell size of blackberry mesocarp was 40.35 μm2, 3.55 times than raspberry, which was 11.37 μm2, besides the cell of blackberry mesocarp was more loosely arranged than raspberry; The cell size of blackberry endocarp was 18.09 μm, 1.48 times than raspberry, which was 12.20 μm. Moreover, the endocarp of blackberry and raspberry were both hardening and divided into three parts, the cell structure of each part was quite different from others, and the outer part formed different texture. Therefore, the differences of anatomy structure between blackberry and raspberry could be used as an important basis for species identification.
