Abstract: Complex superabsorbent resin was a high molecule polymer with hydrophilic groups. It was widely studied resent years. To increase the absorption rate of water, gel intensity after water absorbing and decrease the manufacturing costs, a superabsorbent resin was synthesized by aqueous solution polymerization with acrylic acid(AA), acrylamide(AM), glucose and bentonite as substrates, N,N-methylene bisacrylamide(NMBA)as crosslinker, and potassium persulfate(KPS)as initiator. The influences of mass ratio of glucose and bentonite, the monomer ratio, the content of crosslinking agent, the amount of initiator, neutralization degree of acrylic acid and reaction temperature were studied. The results showed that the optimal reaction conditions are as follows: the mass ratio of glucose and bentonite 1:3, the mass ratio of acrylic acid to acrylamide 3:1, the amount of initiating agent 0.4%, the amount of crosslinker 0.08%, the neutralization degree of acrylic acid 65%, reaction temperature 75 ℃. Under such conditions, absorbency of the resin in distilled water and NaC1 solution were 985 g/g and 114 g/g, respectively.
