Effect of MicroRNA-143 on Myofiber of Denevated Muscle Atrophy in Mouse

Abstract: To investigate the effects of microRNA-143(miR-143)on denervated muscle atrophy in mouse,an amyotrophia mouse model of sciatic nerve resection was established, 10 nmol miR-143 mimics or 10 nmol miR-143 inhibitors were injected to denevated gastrocnemius. Then, the expression of miR-143 was detected by qRT-PCR, the wet weight of gastrocnemius and the cross section diameter of the muscle fibers were compared between the atrophying skeletal muscle and control. The results showed that the diameter of myofiber injected with miR-143 mimics was significantly lower than that of control group while the diameter of myofiber injected with miR-143 inhibitors was significantly higher than that of control group. The results suggested that miR-143 played a role in repairing denervated muscle atrophy.
