Abstract: Animal welfare is bound up with animal health. In view of the problem of activity space shortage and the relatively poor environment for the pig farm, a drive system was designed. Some of basic environmental parameters, such as temperature、humidity and hydrogen sulfide, were real-time acquired using the sensor technology. The pig movement was recorded by the vibration sensor. The data collected by the sensor was analyzed by the microcontroller, and then the processed results were transmitted by the CC2430 wireless communication module and presented in the upper computer interface based on VB. After compared the monitoring data with the setting parameters, the control devices such as the driving motors, door motors, pigpen washing and lighting device were controlled remotely by the host computer to ensure the growth of living pigs. The system could be used to help the farmers to understand and realize the driving movement for living pigs, thus improved the pig growth environment and enhanced the level of automation for modern farming.
