Abstract: :The effects of different matrixes, auxin treatments and shoot sections on the softwood cutting propagation of Lonicera nitida ‘Maigrun’ were studied with the orthogonal design L9(34). The indicators including the survival rate, root number, total root length, root fresh weight, shoot number, total shoot length and shoot fresh weight were determined in the experiment. The results show that all examined indicators by using sand or perlite as cutting media were significantly higher than that by using peat, the survival rate in the treatment with IBA or NAA+IBA behaved significantly higher than that with NAA in the all indicators measured, the rooting number produced from the basal section cuttings was significantly higher than that from other sections cuttings, the total shoot length and shoot fresh weight derived from basal and middle section cuttings showed significantly higher than those from the terminal section, and there was no significant difference between other indicators in the different shoot section treatments. According to the multiple analysis, higher cutting survival rate(above 70%)and high quality young cutting plants can be obtained in the cutting propagation of Lonicera nitidat ‘Maigrun’ by using the sand or perlite as cutting media, middle or basal shoot section as cuttings, and using equal mixture liquid of IBA and NAA in the concentration of 1 000 mg·L-1 to dip the cuttings.
