Physiological and Biochemical Responses of Two Ground Cover Plants to Drought Stress

摘要: 采用盆栽法研究匍枝委陵菜和荆芥对干旱胁迫的生理生化响应,旨在了解两种地被植物的耐旱能力及耐旱性差异。结果表明:匍枝委陵菜和荆芥的可溶性糖、可溶性蛋白和脯氨酸的含量均随干旱胁迫的加深呈上升趋势,其中匍枝委陵菜的变化幅度较小;干旱胁迫下,匍枝委陵菜的SOD活性未发生显著变化,POD活性极显著下降,荆芥的SOD活性极显著上升,POD活性变化较小;参试植物的根系活力均随干旱程度加深呈先降后升趋势,匍枝委陵菜能保持更高的根系活力;荆芥的丙二醛含量在中度胁迫时、匍枝委陵菜在重度胁迫时极显著增加。综合各测试指标及对植株的观察认为:两种植物均有较强的耐旱能力,匍枝委陵菜的耐旱能力更强。

Abstract: Physiological and biochemical responses of Potentilla flagellaris and Nepeta cataria grown in pots to drought stress were studied, aiming at understanding drought tolerance ability of the two ground cover plants and their differences in it. The results showed that soluble sugar, soluble protein and proline contents of the two species increased with the aggravating drought degree, with the smaller varied range for that of P. flagellaris. SOD activity of N. cataria had no significant changes under the drought stress treatment but the POD activity appeared a very significant decreasing. SOD activity of N. cataria during the drought stress increased very significantly while the POD activity changed little. Root activities of the two tested plants declined at the beginning and trended to rise afterwards during the drought stress, with the higher activity maintained by P. flagellaris. MDA content of N. cataria in moderate drought stress and that of P. flagellaris in high one had very significant increasing. Based on comprehensive analysis of the indexes and the plants observation, the two tested species can be considered as the plants with strong drought tolerance ability, of which P. flagellaris is more stronger.
