Abstract: In the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, Xi Jinping has innovatively developed the Marxist view of practice. He insisted on putting practice first, emphasized that practice gives rise to true knowledge, advocated the integration of knowledge and action, and paid more attention to action than words. Besides, he mentioned that we should adhere to problem-orientation, make good use of and highlight grass-root practice, build the second classroom which attaches importance to practice education. Xi Jinping’s view of practice in the new era has provided a fundamental principle and guided value for the practice of cultivating students in colleges and universities. Under the guidance, to improve the quality of talents, it is necessary to improve the ideological and political position , to give the connotation of the new era to education practice, to make students clear of “Four Correct Understandings”, to strengthen “Four Self-confidence”, to strengthen the construction of practice education system, and to expand the carrier of practice education.
