Abstract: Organic ecotype soilless cultivation is a special cultivation technique of China, how to decrease the cost of application is the key to decide whether the technology can be applied, and choosing some cheap substrates is the base of applying the technology. Fungi residue and cheap river sand with different ratios were mixed for potted tomato soilless cultivation to use fungi residue for soilless culture and produce high-yield and high-quality vegetables. The results suggest that the fungi residue could promote the growth of potted tomato plants, accelerate root growth, improve fruit quality, so fungi residue blended with river sand as soilless culture substrate is superior to the traditional method of soil cultivation, and fungi residue∶river sand=8∶2 is the best for the growth of potted tomato.

Key words: fungi residue, river sand, potted tomato, soilless culture
