Abstract: :Using β-actin mRNA expression quantity as an internal reference, the mRNA expression differences of three non-specific immune genes, c-type lysozyme (CTL), interleukin 8 (IL8) and toll-like receptor 5 (TLR5), were analyzed in head kidney, heart, liver, spleen, stomach, intestine and gill of Epinephelus malabaricus with semi-quantitative RT-PCR technique. The results show that mRNA expressions of three genes were observed in all of the above tissues. The highest mRNA expression of CTL gene was detected in spleen while the highest mRNA expression for both IL8 and TLR5 genes was head kidney. The tissues with the lowest mRNA expressions for CTL, IL8 and TLR5 genes were intestine, gill and heart, respectively.
