Synthesis, Herbicidal and Antibacterial Activities, Quantum Chemical Calculation of New β-Diketone Derivatives Containing Glycylglycine Ester

Abstract: Two new β-diketone derivatives containing glycylglycine methyl ester were synthesized and characterized by IR, UV, 1H NMR and Elemental analysis. The results of herbicidal activity tests indicated that the inhibition rates of compound B2 at 100 μg/mL to green-bristlegrass were nearly 100%, even higher than the contrast(Glyphosate). The results of antibacterial activity tests indicated that compound B2 had higher antibacterial ability than compound B1. Theoretical study showed that the existing of thiophen ring and fluorine atoms in compound B2 was the important reason for its better biological activity.
