Abstract: To study the phosphorus balance characteristics between mine tailings soil, overlying water and the sediments, phosphorus release experiment, static simulation experiment and dynamic simulation experiment were done in the lab. The results show that releases of phosphorus in the mine tailings sand is small. Three different amount of mine tailings soil of oscillation 7 days can remove PO4-P in the overlying water more than 90%and the effect is obvious. With the influence of the environment factors of anaerobic and alkaline, mine tailings soil can not inhibit the biological available phosphorus in sediment into the overlying water. The concentration of phosphate in the overlying water increase significantly. The amount of Phosphorus release is larger in acid and alkali. The amount of Phosphorus release is minimal in neutral.
