Abstract: In order to study the resistance physiological characteristics of different clovers in the saline and alkaline stress, 7 clover varieties were selected to study their resistant physical features by malonaldehyde content, proline content and SOD activity under the saline and alkaline stress. The results showed that significant difference could be found among 7 clover varieties when the 3 physical index were inspected under different concentration gradients of saline and alkaline, and the maximum of 3 index could be seen separately when the concentration was 8 g/L. In conclusion, the resistance to the saline and alkaline stress of white clover is better than red clover and subterranean clover, but the further research should be done to examine the resistance to saline and alkaline in the whole growth period.
