Abstract: :Vitamin C can be used as one of the important evaluation index of Malus prunifolia quality. In the experiment, fresh and dried fruits of Malus micromalus Makino and Malus zumi were used as materials, and vitamin C content were determined with spectrophotometric method and iodine quantity method. These results show that there were differences between the two methods for determining the vitamin C contents of begonia fruits, and the results measured by iodine method were higher. The vitamin C content in fresh fruits of Malus micromalus Makino was 0.53~0.61 mg/100 g higher than that of Malus Zumi, and the vitamin C content in dried fruits of Malus micromalus Makino was 0.1~0.2 mg/100 g higher than that of Malus zumi. This study will provide a theoretical guidance for the further nutrient value development of the begonia.
