Abstract: Using horizontal starch gel electrophoresis method, the 12 isozymes of muscles, liver, kidney, heart, eye, brain and gill in two individuals of largemouth bass were examined. The seven isozumes of AAT,GPI,IDH,LDH,MDH,ME and PGM were useful for determining genotypes of largemouth bass, these seven isozymes of two subspecies of northern largemouth bass M. salmoides salmoides and Florida largemouth bass M. salmoides floridanus were examined. The 13 loci were observed, except AAT-1*, the polymorphic locus at 12 loci among individuals within subspecies in two subspecies were not found. The heterozygosities of Ho and He were zero. The genes of two subspecies at two loci of IDH-1* and MDH-1* were different, and this is useful for identifying the two subspecies. The Nei’s genetic distance between the two subspecies was 0.182 3.
