Comparative Researches on Genomic DNA Extraction of Cymbidium’s Ovary

Abstract

Abstract: In order to get the genomic DNA of Cymbidium’s ovary with high quality, which can meet the requirements of molecular biology researches, the Cymbidium’s ovary was selected as the materials to extract its genomic DNA by five different methods（SDS, CTAB, optimized CTAB, high-salt CTAB and Kit method）. The extraction products were detected by gel electrophoresis and instrument. The results indicate that the extraction products from optimized CTAB were of high concentration and high purity without phenols, polysaccharides and other impurities. Optimized CTAB was the optimum method for extracting the genomic DNA of Cymbidium’s ovary.
