Abstract: In this paper, the adsorption properties of activated carbon for malachite green and acid chrome blue K in water solution were studied. The results show that the adsorption of methylene blue on bamboo-carbon is easier than that of acid chrome blue K. Adding the same mass of the activated carbon, the decolorization rate reached the maximum when the concentration of malachite green is 8.0 mg/L, and the concentration of acid chrome blue K is 16 mg/L. Maintaining the concentration unchanged, the decolorization rate of malachite green and acid chrome blue K reached the best at the same time when the added activated carbon is 25 mg/L. Along with the changing adsorption time, the decolorization rate of the malachite green has the small changes, but the decolorization rate of chrome blue K becomes unstable.
