Abstract: In this experiment, Cerasus serrulata buds found in Jizhou district of Tianjin were used as experimental materials. The genesis of megaspore and microspore, the development of its gametophytes and the interrelationship between female and male cell development of Cerasus serrulata were studied by paraffin section. The results showed that Cerasus serrulata anthers were butterfly-shaped with 4 drug Chambers. The anther walls were tapetum, middle layer, chamber wall and epidermis from inside to outside. The tetrad was a regular tetrahedron. During megaspore generation, sporogenic cells divided to produce sporogenic cells, which then divided to form megaspore mother cells. Megaspore mother cells meiosis into linear arrangement of the tetrad formed four megaspores, but finally only one function megaspore eventually developed into the embryo sac. In some of the ovary, there weretwo ovules, one of which could mature into embryo sac while the other degenerated and disappeared. The stamens of Cerasus serrulata developed earlier than the pistil.
