Abstract: In order to investigate the discharge and treatment of tailwater from factory aquaculture in Tianjin, ten representative aquaculture enterprises were selected to investigate the tailwater quality. 57 water samples were collected from May 2019 to March 2021 and according to the “Sewage Requirements of Mariculture Tailwater”(2007 edition)the inorganic nitrogen, COD, suspended solids, active phosphate, pH and salinity were determined respectively. The results showed that inorganic nitrogen, COD, suspended solids and active phosphate all exceeded the standard, and the exceeding rates were 22.81%, 26.32% 84.21%, and 85.96%, respectively. Therefore, at present, the overall water quality of industrial aquaculture tailwater in Tianjin was not good enough and the existing tailwater treatment efficiency still needs to be further improved; the relevant standards in “Sewage Requirements of Mariculture Tailwater”(2007 Edition)are too strict and are not applicable for the tailwater from industrial aquaculture.
