Abstract: In this study, leaf, petiole and hypocotyl of Gegu radish were used as explants to induce loose callus,to explore the effect of different explants and different hormone concentrations on the induction of loose callus. The results showed that different explants all could induce callus, but only cotyledon and petiole could induce loose callus, and the loose callus induced by cotyledon grew faster, and the callus induction rate was(26.88±1.44)%. Cotyledon was the most suitable explant for inducing loose callus. The optimal medium for induction of loose callus was MS+0.25 mg/L6-BA+2.0 mg/L 2,4-D. The induction rate of loose callus was(95.83±2.20)%, and the browning rate was only(0.83±0.83)%.

Key words: Gegu radish, cotyledon, friable callus
